The role
OryonTech builds Agent as a Service for WhatsApp-first SMEs. Our AI agents answer customer questions, capture orders, take payment in the chat, book appointments and hand edge cases to the merchant's team. You will sell that operating value using an approved playbook while feeding real merchant objections and learning back into the sales motion.
What you will do
- Source and qualify Lagos-based SMEs that sell products, take bookings, collect customer payments or manage support through WhatsApp.
- Run approved WhatsApp and social outreach, follow up consistently and move each prospect toward a clear next step.
- Own the pipeline tracker daily: log every qualified prospect, conversation outcome, next action and next-action date.
- Book and co-lead walkthroughs across order-to-payment and service-to-booking flows, handle first-level objections and ask for the next commitment.
- Coordinate qualified merchants through the approved onboarding checklist for products or services, pricing, availability, checkout and handoff.
- Track prospects through their first 14 days and follow up toward the first recurring payment on day 15 or later.
- Report on pipeline health, walkthroughs, 14-day activations, paid conversions, objections and stage-by-stage drop-off.
What you bring
- At least 1 year of sales, business development or customer-facing experience across SME, FMCG, retail, B2B or B2C environments.
- Strong written communication; your WhatsApp messages are clear, warm, responsive and professional.
- Confidence speaking with business owners, running a focused walkthrough and asking directly for the next step.
- Comfort explaining technology and automation in plain, practical business language.
- A self-starting, accountable working style: you use a playbook and tracker without waiting to be chased.
- Based in Lagos and able to combine remote work with field visits when a qualified merchant requires it.
Nice to have
Experience selling to WhatsApp-heavy SMEs; familiarity with WhatsApp Business or a CRM/pipeline tracker; or an existing network across retail, food, beauty and wellness, fashion, pharmacy, education and training, professional services or other appointment-based businesses.
Working arrangement
Remote and field-based in Lagos under an initial 3-month contract, renewable based on performance and business need. Nigeria-aligned hours and qualified merchant visits are required.
