About OryonTech

OryonTech develops Agent as a Service, a WhatsApp-first platform that enables businesses to manage customer interactions, orders, bookings, payments, and operational workflows. Merchants use our dashboard to configure the business, monitor work, intervene when judgment is needed, and understand what the system is doing.

Our frontend must make complex operational state clear, trustworthy, and easy to act on.

Position overview

We are seeking a frontend product engineer who can own customer-facing workflows from problem discovery through production verification.

This is not a role for waiting on perfectly specified tickets. You will work close to merchants, product, backend, and Applied AI colleagues, understand where users are getting stuck, propose a practical solution, build it, test it in the browser, and verify that it works after release.

You will own core merchant experiences across onboarding, catalog, orders, bookings, payments, support, human handoff, and operational tooling. You will also help turn recurring customer needs into reusable components and product patterns.

AI-assisted engineering (required)

You must actively use company-approved AI coding assistants and agentic development tools as part of your daily engineering workflow to build and improve production software efficiently. This is a core requirement, not an optional advantage, and applies to your own development process, not only to building AI product features.

  • Use AI tools for research, planning, prototyping, implementation, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and production diagnosis when appropriate to the task.
  • Supply relevant codebase context, API contracts, constraints, failure cases, and acceptance criteria; iterate deliberately rather than accepting the first generated answer.
  • Understand, review, test, and explain every change you ship. AI output does not replace engineering judgment, code review, security checks, or deployment approval.
  • Protect credentials, personal information, customer data, and proprietary code. Use only approved tools and data-handling settings, keep access least-privileged, and never give AI tools uncontrolled production access.
  • Build reusable prompts, instructions, tests, and automation that reduce repetitive work. Demonstrate efficiency through delivery time, reduced rework, and reliable outcomes, not lines of generated code; keep tool usage and cost proportionate.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate UI prototyping, component implementation, API integration, accessibility checks, and browser tests; verify real user journeys, error states, and responsive behavior in the browser.

During technical screening, be ready to walk through an AI-assisted change, explain what you accepted or rejected, and show how you verified correctness. No additional document or exercise is required with your initial CV email.

Principal responsibilities

Product and frontend engineering

  • Build responsive, accessible interfaces using TypeScript, React, Next.js, HTML, and CSS.
  • Own merchant dashboard journeys, onboarding flows, forms, operational tools, human handoff, and customer-support interfaces.
  • Integrate backend APIs and real-time updates with accurate loading, empty, error, pending, retry, and completed states.
  • Represent backend-confirmed business state accurately, especially for payments, orders, bookings, billing, and fulfillment.
  • Improve frontend architecture, routing, state management, component reuse, performance, observability, and maintainability.
  • Build and maintain reusable components and interaction patterns rather than one-off screens.

Customer discovery and forward-deployed delivery

  • Work directly with merchants, operators, and internal stakeholders to understand workflows, friction, and user behavior.
  • Translate customer evidence into user journeys, prototypes, technical scope, and acceptance criteria.
  • Demonstrate working solutions, gather feedback, and own delivery through rollout and post-launch verification.
  • Identify usability problems and product opportunities without waiting for detailed design instructions.
  • Convert recurring needs into configurable product experiences that work across merchants.

Quality, accessibility, and production ownership

  • Test critical journeys across browsers, screen sizes, keyboard navigation, and assistive technologies.
  • Prevent duplicate submissions, misleading status, stale data, and broken recovery paths.
  • Support releases, monitor frontend errors and performance, diagnose incidents, and work with backend and infrastructure engineers on recovery.
  • Add useful analytics and telemetry so product decisions can be grounded in observed customer behavior.
  • Maintain appropriate handling of sensitive data in the browser and follow authentication and authorization boundaries.

Engineering leadership and AI-assisted development

  • Lead frontend design discussions and code reviews and contribute to shared engineering standards.
  • Use approved AI engineering tools for investigation, prototyping, implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation while remaining accountable for every delivered change.
  • Provide AI tools with the user goal, design context, existing components, API contracts, responsive behavior, accessibility requirements, and acceptance criteria, then verify the result in the browser.
  • Document material decisions and share repeatable patterns, prompts, and lessons with the team.
  • Communicate trade-offs and delivery risks clearly and bring recommendations rather than only problems.

Required qualifications

  • Demonstrated practical use of AI-assisted engineering tools to deliver tested software, with the ability to independently explain, debug, and maintain the resulting work.
  • Strong professional experience building and operating modern web applications used by real customers.
  • Strong TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and modern frontend framework experience. Next.js experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong capability with API integration, authentication, forms, asynchronous state, routing, and error handling.
  • Demonstrated ability to build responsive interfaces with semantic HTML and practical accessibility.
  • Experience testing user journeys through unit, component, integration, and/or browser automation.
  • Strong debugging skills across frontend state, network behavior, browser issues, API contracts, and production telemetry.
  • Experience taking ambiguous product requirements and turning them into a working, testable user experience.
  • Evidence of initiative, product judgment, code review discipline, clear communication, and independent delivery.

Preferred experience

  • SaaS dashboards, commerce, booking, payments, operations, or support tooling.
  • Real-time updates, WebSockets/SSE, transaction state, or other operational interfaces.
  • Design systems, component libraries, analytics instrumentation, and accessibility testing.
  • GCP-hosted products and CI/CD workflows.
  • WhatsApp-connected products, conversational interfaces, or human handoff workflows.
  • Interfaces that expose AI system state and recovery.
  • Previous forward-deployed, founding-engineer, or customer-facing product engineering experience.

Performance expectations

Success will be assessed against observable customer and engineering outcomes:

  • Merchants can complete important tasks without avoidable confusion or support intervention.
  • Critical workflows accurately reflect backend state and recover safely from errors and interruptions.
  • Frontend regressions, accessibility gaps, and repeated UX failures decline over time.
  • Customer feedback becomes reusable product capability rather than one-off patches.
  • The frontend is easier for other engineers to understand, test, extend, and operate.
  • Delivery can move from problem statement to verified production outcome without detailed step-by-step direction.

Specific targets will be established from the current platform baseline and the priorities agreed for the role.
